Requirements
The following is a list of items that are needed for an application to be considered complete:
All programs require an online application for admission. Our online application is streamlined for your convenience and can be completed in approximately five minutes. You do not have to wait until you have all your documents and materials to submit your application.
All programs require official transcripts for admission. Please reach out to the admissions team, and we will help you source your transcripts.
- RN to MSN program: you must have an unencumbered RN license
- FNP program: you must have an unencumbered Texas RN license
- PNP-PC program: you must have an unencumbered Texas RN license
- MSN Nurse Education program: you must have an unencumbered RN license
- MSN Nurse Leadership program: you must have an unencumbered RN license
- RN to MSN program: To be considered for the RN to BSN program, you must have completed an accredited ADN program (Associates Degree in Nursing). You will be granted full admission with a 2.75 GPA.
- MSN Programs: To be considered for any of the MSN programs, you must have completed your BSN at a regionally accredited higher education institution with a 3.0 GPA or above. Applicants with a GPA below a 3.0 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- MSN Programs: 1 year of RN work experience is required for admission to all programs. Priority will be given to applicants with 2 years of RN work experience.
- Resume: All MSN applicants must submit a current resume that reflects accurate work history, education, and other relevant experiences during the application process.

As part of your admissions process, you may be contacted by a member of our admissions team with additional questions. Tuition and Financial Aid:
You may be eligible for financial aid through the Federal Financial Aid program. To find out your eligibility and what you may qualify for, complete and submit a current FAFSA application at www.studentaid.gov

It is important to complete the FAFSA process, in conjunction with your application, so that the Financial Aid office can review your file as soon as you receive your admissions decision.

No, there is no application fee.
The tuition for the BSN level courses is $475 per credit, the tuition for the MSN in Nurse Leadership program is $500 per credit, and the tuition for the FNP, PNP and MSN in Nurse Education programs is $515 per credit.
No, there is no deposit required.
Yes, a range of payment plans are available to accommodate students’ personal finance and employer reimbursement needs.
RN-MSN: For the RN-MSN program, you need an unencumbered RN license, but it does not have to be specific to Texas.
MSN: For the FNP and PNP programs, a valid Texas RN license is required. For the Nurse Education, Nurse Leadership and RN to BSN programs, a valid RN license is required.
RN-MSN: All BSN level courses are 8 weeks in length and the bridge and MSN courses are 16 weeks in length.
MSN: All MSN courses are 16 weeks.
There are six start dates offered per year for the RN-MSN program (January, March, May, July, August, October) and for the MSN FNP, Nurse Leader, and Nurse Educator programs there are two start dates per year (January and August). For the MSN PNP program the next start is in May.
You have the ability to move through the program at your own pace.
The entire program can be completed in as few as 24 months for the Nurse Educator and Nurse Leadership programs, 24-26 months for the FNP program, and seven semesters for the PNP program.
Yes. Program requirements are:
- MSN: A minimum of a B- for non-clinical courses and B for clinical and practicum courses must be achieved. A 3.0 GPA is required to be eligible for graduation.
- RN-MSN: You must maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA at the end of each semester to enroll in an upper level nursing course. If your GPA falls below this, you can enroll in general education courses and resume nursing courses as soon as a cumulative GPA of 2.75 has been reached. You must have a 3.0 GPA to continue into MSN level courses.
RN-MSN: The RN to BSN level courses are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the MSN curriculum, which includes the bridge courses, is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
MSN: The MSN programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
